He was known as a child prodigy made a hundred poems in a night at the age of 15. He studied from Yanagawa Seigan. a Confucist,doctor.

This poem is the one of Yoshinokaiko which is known as the three poems which have the same title, but each poem was made by each poet -Kouno Tettou, Fujii Chikugai and Yanagawa Seigan-. They were described the memory of the days in Yoshino period and cherry blossoms in Mt.Yoshino.
