It has not known when he was born. It seems that the floruit was in 1850's.

He was son of Takahashi Zaikou who was also a painter of Hara school that derived from the movement of art in kyoto at that time.

Condition index

Shishinden is the main palace of Kyoto Gosho and the prestigious one as it holds the important ceremony of the imperial family. This work has a strong sence of Hara school that had served at the court for a long period of time.
